Well I will agree with you on the commercials.. I think there are too many too.. As for DW, I think you either love him or you hate him.. I like his commentary; I think he's funny.

racing is great, i love it now more than ever.....

Don't get me wrong..I watch nearly every race, and go to nearly every race close by, but I just can't stand the way things are done (not saying I could do it any better). The Chevy/Dale Jr. commercials are a joke. DJ sucks, and the only reason he gets as much publicity as he does is because of his name. Nascar is a Southern, American sport and I wish that it could have stuck that way. I really have no idea why it's such a fuss for the people to throw beer cans and toilet paper on the track...I mean come on, whats it gonna hurt? They racec at 180mph and crash into a wall and most walk away from it. I could understand it they would have done it during the race. The guys are in the car and there's no one on the track?...If that would have happened 10 years ago...not a thing would have been said about it.
I like racing to but i do like the slamming and the bumping that used to go on.I just hate hearing at every Plate race the bump drafting has to stop and so on.I little more bumping a little more excitment.
"When Giving Your Best Is Not Good Enough"
Everyone loves bumping hell thats why they have Bristol... As far as bump drafting it's cool but you don't want someone riding someones tail until they wipe out the whole field.

Back to the original subject for a second:
Gordon is a very talented driver who has accomplished an amazing amount in a relatively short career so far. He is very nice guy who handles the unwarranted hate better than 99.9% could.
Those type of actions by large groups of fans simply re-enforces the stereotype of the redneck, knuckle dragging, beer swilling, uneducated race fan. It's not good for the sport and it needs to be brought under control, even if it's at the cost of some long time fans.

Only in the hearts of those who harbor such stereotypes.
